NSiC nitride bonded sic silicon carbide triangle board for kilns furnaces

The NSIC material has series of superiority such as high bending strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high hardness, high thermal conductivity, oxidation resistance, thermal shock resistance, low coefficient of the thermal expansion and creep resistance under high temperature, etc..NSIC products can be widely used in the field of desulfurization equipment, industrial furnace, petroleum industry, metallurgy industry, electronics, steel, nuclear industry, surface treatment, paper-making and mine-selecting etc.

Nitrite-bonded silicon carbide :
NSiC belongs to the porous silicon carbide ceramics with 10 - 15% porosity (< 1% open porosity), which give the material good thermal shock resistance. The silicon nitride matrix additionally protects the material from oxidation and allows it to be used even in air up to 1500 °C.

Compared with RSiC,NSIC is characterized by a smaller pore size, which means significantly higher flexural strength as well as surface resistance without deformation - even over a longer period of use. The material has thus proven itself as a highly resilient and durable kiln furniture up to 1,500 °C. Coupled with Schunk's unique manufacturing expertise, the production of plates up to 1 m x 0.8 m is possible. Thanks to the silicon nitride matrix, products made of  are poorly wettable by non-ferrous metal melts. This enables use in direct contact with zinc, but also aluminum and tw. copper melts.

Due to its high temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance and low density (2.85 g/cm³), NSIC board is predestined for use as a kiln furniture in the oxidative range for firing ceramic products. Especially in sanitary ceramics, but also in technical ceramics, nsic is the material of choice for lightweight, long-lasting kiln furniture plates. Its low wettability to metallic melts also allows it to be used as an immersion tube for heating melts by means of gas burners.
