Description

Silicon Carbide Liners for Paper Mill Cleaners — Product Introduction

Product Overview

Silicon carbide liners are key wear-resistant components for high-consistency, medium-consistency, and low-consistency cleaners (hydrocyclone cleaners) in paper mills. Based on the principle of centrifugal separation, they are installed in the cone body and other wear-prone parts of the cleaner to remove heavy impurities such as sand, metal particles, and dirt from pulp, while protecting the equipment housing from high-speed slurry erosion.

Thanks to ultra-high hardness (Mohs hardness above 9), excellent wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, silicon carbide (SiC) has become the preferred material for cleaner liners. Compared with traditional metal or plastic liners, SiC liners can extend service life by 3 to 5 times, significantly reducing downtime for replacement and maintenance costs.

Product Features

1. Ultra-High Hardness, Extremely Strong Wear Resistance

Silicon carbide hardness can reach above HV2800 (Mohs hardness 9.2–9.5), second only to diamond. At the reject discharge port and cone body of the cleaner, impurity particles rub against the inner wall at high speed. SiC liners effectively resist this severe abrasion, greatly extending service life compared with traditional materials.

2. Corrosion Resistance, Good Chemical Stability

Silicon carbide has excellent chemical inertness against various acidic and alkaline media. It is unaffected by residual chemicals in pulp or bleaching agents (such as hydrogen peroxide), and performs stably under complex conditions such as waste paper pulping and deinking purification.

3. High Temperature Resistance, Excellent Thermal Stability

SiC liners generally withstand temperatures above 800°C, and in some processes over 1,400°C. With a low thermal expansion coefficient, they are not prone to deformation or cracking under temperature fluctuations.

4. High Separation Efficiency

Combined with a reasonable cone structure design, SiC liners maintain a stable hydraulic cyclone separation effect, with separation accuracy for heavy impurities in pulp reaching over 95%.

Applicable Equipment and Specifications

Applicable Cleaner Types:

  • Low Consistency Cleaners

  • Medium Consistency Cleaners

  • High Consistency Cleaners

Common Compatible Brands:

  • ANDRITZ Series: TC/SC133, RB300, RB600, etc.

  • VOITH Series: KS160, KS60, HCL5, HICC400/600, KS250, etc.

  • KADANT Series: CT15, CT30, CT60, CT108, XCEL150, LC25, LC20, etc.

Typical Specification Range:

  • Inlet diameter: 50 mm to 500 mm

  • Processing capacity: 5 to 200 tons of pulp per hour

  • Liner thickness: 10 mm to 30 mm (customized according to wear intensity)

Important Note: Cleaner liner dimensions are not a unified standard. Different brands, models, and processing capacity ranges have different cone angles, diameters, and lengths. Custom production must be based on the customer's specific equipment model or original drawings — they are not interchangeable.

Main Application Scenarios

  • Pulp and paper industry: waste paper pulping purification, deinking pulp cleaning, finished pulp purification

  • High-consistency cleaning systems: removal of heavy impurities and sand from pulp

  • Low-consistency cleaning systems: fine purification to ensure finished paper quality
